Work Permit
O.K. so all of my paperwork is in the islands, and in the hands of the lawyers. At least the last that I heard. As soon as they get it to immigration it will just be a waiting game. That should be very exciting sitting here on pins and needles waiting for their decision! So there is not much to say until I get word back, and then there will be a flurry of activity. Yes that is right, a 'flurry'!

More pictures
My blood work came back from the labs today. Now all I need to do is FedEx it off tomorrow. Then it is just a waiting game. Apparently it takes on average about two weeks for immigration to make up their mind. So theoretically I could be gone by July 7th.

Looking Good
Last night I talked with a friend of mine that is already down in Grand Cayman working on the job that I am going to. Everything that the company has told me so far checks out. He says that he is not holding back at all and living like a king, yet he is still managing to save a good portion of his board allowance. This is all without touching his wages which are paid here in Canada.
Hopefully I will get my blood work back this week and I can start the application process. I am getting very anxious! With any luck I will be on the island by the first week of July.

Hell
Yes there is actually a place on Grand Cayman called 'Hell'. There is even a hell rd. Kathleen suggests that I take a snowball there and see if it stands a chance. She also tells me to stake out a half acre there and start running all over it!
Hurricane Season
Hurricane season has started and runs from June 1st to November 30th. But apparently this island only recently saw any sort of destructive force out of a hurricane, before that it was 150 years back that there was a destructive hurricane.

Cayman Job Offer
O.K. here is the scoop. I was offered employment by a Canadian company that is doing work in the Cayman Islands. So I thought about it and once I could get my jaw off the floor after seeing the wage package, Kathleen and I decided to accept. I have been filling out enough paperwork to clearcut half of northern Ontario to send to immigration. If immigration gives me the O.K. I will head down there within a week.
So once I land on the island someone from the company will pick me up and take me to the company apartment building. They will then reimburse me for my flight and put some money in my Cayman bank account. They take this money out of my travel pay over 10 weeks. My accommodation's are also deducted from my travel allowance weekly. The left over money is for eating, spending and bringing Kathleen and or the kids back and forth.
